[Director's Lifestyle] Summer Vacation in Bangkok, Thailand: Cafe Tour Edition

During this summer vacation, my family and I stayed in Bangkok, Thailand for about a month.

My children's school has incredibly long summer holidays, so every year it's become a tradition for us to send them to summer school somewhere for a month, and then go overseas as a sort of vacation, and this year we went to Bangkok, Thailand.

I will explain in detail why I chose Bangkok in another article.

If there is anyone out there who is interested in moving abroad, I would be happy if you would read this.

This time, I'll give you some more practical, fun information to help you on your journey.

I did a lot of cafe hopping in Bangkok, so I would like to introduce my favorite shops in areas and stations that Japanese people probably choose for sightseeing and hotel stays.

Near BTS Phrom Phong station

Unbirthday Café

This very cute place is less than a 10- minute walk from Phrom Phong Station.

It's in a building that makes you wonder if it's really here (maybe this is a Bangkok thing...).

The glass-walled interior is bright, and there is a pool outside.

The birthday cake box displays placed everywhere as decorations were so cute!

I actually had the cake too, and it was delicious.

GLIG CAFÉ

It's a little far from the station, about a 15- minute walk, so I recommend taking Grab .

This is a lovely, standalone cafe with a garden full of greenery on the approach to the store.

We recommend the cream-filled donuts.

The interior design and menu of the restaurant have an overall Japanese modern atmosphere that somehow gives off a Japanese vibe.

It's a fairly spacious cafe, so I'd like to relax there... but the air conditioning inside is blasting!! lol

Don't forget to bring a jacket...

Lively Café

It is about a 6- minute walk from Phrom Phong Station.

It is a cute, small cafe with a bright yellow exterior.

I had plans to go to a hair salon of the same chain on the second floor , so I stopped by here quickly before that.

I think an iced latte was about 300 yen.

It has an espresso machine and is a full-fledged cafe bar, but it's a relatively reasonable place.

Near BTS Thonglor station

FLAT + WHITE Café & MILK BAR

It's a little far from Thonglor station, so use Grab !

The exterior, the interior, everything is a pure white house cafe.

It features an impressive staircase leading to the second floor.

Everyone was taking lots of photos on this staircase without a handrail.

I was alone so I couldn't take a picture...lol

The cafe was pleasant with plenty of sunshine.

Near BTS Ekkamai station

KIF

The location is great, right next to Ekkamai station!

Even though it's on the first floor of a large office building, when I went there in the morning after dropping my child off at school it was still empty.

It might be a hidden gem.

The interior of the cafe is nicely designed with a dusty green and wooden feel, making it a really appealing type of cafe.

Perhaps with a Japanese feel in mind, the menu also includes dishes that use matcha.

Also, I couldn't try them because I had just had breakfast, but I was intrigued by the delicious looking pastries lined up. I'll definitely try them next time.

Near Siam Square

The Cassette Coffee Bar

Located just 5 minutes from Siam Station, this place is 100 % Instagrammable!

An all-pink, cute cafe that girls will love.

The interior and entrance are cute, of course, but I was especially impressed by how cute the design was in everything, even the paper napkins and other fixtures.

It gets crowded with girls wanting to take photos, so be sure to go early to catch opening time.

summary

It's hot in Bangkok (although when I returned to Japan it was much more humid in Tokyo), so I drank two or three cups of iced coffee or iced latte a day.

There are coffee stands and fruit juice stands everywhere, so you'll never run out of things to drink, and they're all delicious.

Next time, I would like to introduce some recommended brunches and restaurants in Bangkok! Please look forward to it!
