[Director's Lifestyle] Summer Vacation in Bangkok, Thailand Brunch & Lunch Edition

This summer vacation, my family and I stayed in Bangkok, Thailand for about a month.

In the previous article, we introduced the cafe edition. What did you think?

Bangkok Check out the cafe hopping article here!

This time, I would like to introduce mainly cafe restaurants where you can also dine, which are recommended for brunch and lunch. I will introduce my favorite restaurants by location and station that Japanese people probably choose for sightseeing and hotel accommodation, so please use it as a reference.

Near BTS Phrom Phong station

This was my favorite, and I liked it so much that I went there about three times during my stay.

It's more than a 10- minute walk from both Phrom Phong and Thonglor , so it's best to use Grab to get there.

First of all, I really like the atmosphere, with the exterior and interior being entirely made of glass.

There are lots of squirrels in the trees outside, which you can see from inside the restaurant.

It opens early in the morning, so you can have tea with other mothers after dropping off your kids at school.

They also have a morning menu, and you can enjoy freshly baked pastries from the bakery next door.

My child was hooked on the smoothies made with fresh fruit as they were delicious.

They have a full brunch menu including American breakfast, pancakes, sandwiches, etc.

There were many wealthy looking Arab ladies having a ladies' night out.

It is about a 10 minute walk from Phrom Phong Station .

It's just one road from the station, so it should be easy to find.

This is a stylish, standalone cafe, and what's great for families with children is that it even has a kids' space!

Moreover, there were many Japanese toys and picture books in Japanese. Although the space is small, it's a great place for children to play while they wait for their meal.

There is also a kids' menu, and the food is wide-ranging, from typical cafe food to authentic Thai cuisine.

There are also fries, which kids love.

A group of young local girls ordered cute desserts and were busy taking photos.

They also sell tasteful tableware and vases, such as Okinawan Yachimun pottery, and some customers come just to buy those items.

I had been eating a lot of carbohydrates and my stomach was tired, so I ordered a Mexican salad with lots of vegetables, my husband had green curry, and my friend ordered tom yum goong.

Although the kids ordered a kids' plate with pasta, fries and juice, they were so engrossed in playing that they didn't eat anything, so we got takeaway and ate it in our room in the evening.

Anan's Kitchen

It is a short walk from the station.

This is a local Thai restaurant with an open kitchen, something between a food stall and a restaurant.

A friend who used to live in Bangkok recommended this place to me, and just as I had been told, the green curry was creamy (but still spicy!) and different from other places!

It was so delicious that I went there two or three times during my stay.

It was just a few minutes' walk from the condominium where I was staying for a month, so it was perfect for a quick lunch by myself .

Although it is a restaurant, all the seats are open-air, so depending on the season it may be a bit hot and some people may be bothered by the noise and smoke from the cars on the street in front...

I always order the creamy green curry, so I wanted to try the seafood dish my friend recommended!

The Gardens of Dinsor Palace

This restaurant is located exactly halfway between Ekkamai Station and Thonglor Station.

It's close to the station and easy to find, so you can walk there.

This beautifully designed restaurant in a detached house has a large area and a wide, green garden leading to the entrance, creating an exciting atmosphere.

Here are some great points for families with children!!

There are so many animals being kept everywhere, and if you ask the staff they will even give you food so you can feed them.

While you eat you can watch peacocks and rabbits (whether you want to see them or not is beside the point), and when you go out into the garden there is a pond where you can also find black swans and turtles.

There were also lots of squirrels in the trees.

It was humid in Bangkok, but the kids could run around outside, enjoy the mini zoo, and have a meal at this restaurant, so it was very satisfying. They also had a kids' menu, and my son had the Bolognese Basta set.

However, as always in Southeast Asia, there are a lot of mosquitoes outside, so don't forget to bring mosquito repellent! This restaurant had some in the garden, so even if you forget, you don't have to worry.

Babyccino

This place is a little far from the station, so please use Grab taxi to get there.

Here too, the courtyard is filled with greenery, and the restaurant has high ceilings and a glass front, so it is a very pleasant restaurant with plenty of natural light.

I really like the interior design too! It's not over the top, but it's modern and stylish.

There were not many Asian customers, but there were many Middle Eastern ladies.

I went there during brunch time and it was full, so I waited about 20 minutes.

It opens at 8am, so it seems to be a popular place for madams to have brunch after being dropped off at the nearby interchange .

I was starting to get a little tired of Thai food, and I really felt like eating pasta for breakfast that day, so my husband and I ordered two types of pasta to share.

I had a spicy oily one like peperoncino, and what was my husband's? Lol I forgot.

Looking at the customers around me, it was brunch time, so many people were ordering one-plate American breakfast-style menus.

The coffee we had after the meal was also very authentic and delicious.

Mother May I

You can walk there from Ekkamai station if you try hard, but I recommend using Grab .

It's a very nice house restaurant. It's probably a restaurant that's also used for weddings and parties.

The courtyard leading from the entrance to the building is also very beautiful and full of greenery. There were also terrace seats.

Above all, this is a modern Thai restaurant and the food is delicious.

My husband and I shared a hearty Massaman curry and green curry.

The interior is cute and the ceilings are high and eye-catching.

Fran 's

Apparently this restaurant is the hottest among Thai people right now!

It's difficult to get a reservation during brunch time, so it might be a good idea to reserve a table a little early.

My son and I just took a Grab and went there without a reservation, and since there were only two of us we were able to get in with almost no wait, but there were so many people waiting that it might be difficult to find a table seat for more than four people if you're a walk-in .

Wow, that's popular!!!

Both the exterior and interior of the shop have a modern simplicity, with modern art displayed throughout, making it fun to look at, like an art museum.

Inside the restaurant there is a main dining area with a view of the open kitchen, a room at the back, and terrace seating; each room has a slightly different decor, so the atmosphere changes completely, which was fun.

Next time I'll make a reservation and dine in the main dining area.

The taste was also very high quality!

I'll have a Caesar salad and a latte.

My son had a breakfast set with bread, sausage, eggs, sweet potato sticks, and freshly squeezed apple juice.

The portions are quite large, so you can take home what you couldn't finish.

summary

What did you think? I've introduced my top recommended restaurants in Bangkok for lunch and brunch.

Of course, there are countless delicious Thai restaurants all over the place, but eating Thai food every day can get boring.

Sometimes you'll want to eat Italian or cafe food, so be sure to use this as a reference next time you travel.
